Reconnecting with my creativity
Tyger is born in raised in Lincoln Nebraska. From a young age she knew she was destined to do something creative. Growing up she started falling with the norm of the world, and tapped out of her creativity for a while. After she needed to end a bad relationship in her early 20’s, Tyger had to start all over. She felt lost and had a lot of time for self-discovery. Shortly after this period of time in her life she created her breakthrough piece. When she stood and looked at this piece she had a realization that this is what she was meant to do. Tyger was meant to create art. This is her destiny. After this realization she decided art school was the way to go. She found the Milan Art Institute and was on board. She is now a graduate of the MAI, and has launched her career as an artist.
Tyger enjoys painting with bright colors and anything sparkly or shiny to show that there is light and joy after darkness. She paints animals and portraits to symbolize her upbringing and her story. She sketches her painting out in charcoal, and then makes a fun colorful mess! It’s important for her to tap into the inner child who doesn’t care to much about the outcome while creating. “Keep your faith, and trust in your journey” Tyger is using her story to share how creating heals, and helps you discover yourself. She hopes to inspire her son, those around her, and creatives of the world to be proud of their story. To be able to trust in the light, overcome any darkness, to live a life of their wildest dreams and most importantly, to stay creative.
Artist Statement
I want to express the beauty of seeing the light in the darkness.
Animals are my favorite thing to paint. I feel deeply connected to animals and nature. I start my paintings with a charcoal sketch. Then I go crazy with mixed media materials based off my mood and intuition. Sometimes I will grab spray paints, or do collage. Other times I like to just get paint everywhere and start off with lots of drips and let the wet paint or ink flow on its own around my canvas. Then I will go back to my subject, add layers and embellishments. I love to add fun elements like gold leaf, glitter, and pigments. Anything that sparkles or shines! With my art I want to show the greatness of not loosing your faith, by creating art that symbolizes the inner child, strength, peace, and freedom.
Support Tyger’s mission to inspire people to keep their faith, and live a creative life.♡
